Tournaments

PABSA is pleased to be hosting WPBSA affiliated Q Tour in the Americas region starting in 2024. There will be 2 legs of the Q Tour Americas hosted at Canada and USA in early 2024.

Q Tour Americas will be open to players born in, or resident in the Pan American region for a minimum of six months. The newly expanded WPBSA Q Tour Global will culminate in a 24-player playoff, to be held at Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina during March 13-15, 2024, with three places on the professional World Snooker Tour to be won from the start of the 2024/25 season. The playoff will feature a minimum of 16 players from the UK/Europe rankings, who will now be joined by up to eight international qualifiers which will now include two players from the Americas region.

PABSA conducts 2 marquee tournaments every year – the PAN-AMERICAN SNOOKER OPEN and PAN-AMERICAN SNOOKER SENIORS. The tournaments are generally held together (one after the other and at the same location). The goal is to rotate the hosting of the tournament amongst the major playing nations of the North and South American region. Previous tournaments were held at Brazil (2023), Canada (2022, 2021) and USA (2020).

In accordance with the Rules of PABSA, entrants must be:
1. A citizen of any of the 41 nations which make up the Pan American Olympic Movement – with a special dispensation for legal “Permanent residents” of those 41 nations who have resided for a continuous period of the past FIVE YEARS and have NO PREVIOUS representation for a foreign nation in ANY international snooker championship.
2. PAN-AMERICAN SNOOKER SENIORS is open to people over 50 years of age and with the same conditions as (1) above.

PABSA intends to increase the tournaments held each year by aiming to conduct BILLIARDS tournaments as well as additional SNOOKER tournaments.
